Chechaka Dham is known as a major religious site of Bokaro district. This is a Shiva temple. This place is mainly famous for Hindu devotees. Devotees come from far and wide to worship here. It is believed that all the wishes of the devotees are fulfilled here.

Chechaka Dham is also known as Chechakeshwar Dham and is also known as Mini Baba Dham due to the worship of Lord Shiva.

History of Chechaka Dham:

The Shiva lingam is divided into three parts, representing Brahma, Vishnu and Maheshwara. There is also a Shiva temple here. The origin of the name Chechka is from a small village named ‘Chechka’ located near this place, where there used to be an ashram and sages used to do penance here.

The religious significance:

Devotees come here to worship. More crowd is seen here especially during Makar Sankranti and other festivals. Locals believe that the Belpatra offered in worship at this Shiva temple cures skin related diseases.

Recognition of the Footprints of Lord Vishnu:

Here on a rock there is a footprint of Lord Vishnu. The local people have great faith in this temple. People believe that Lord Vishnu himself came here and made this place holy.

The structure of the footprint is very clear and on seeing it one feels that it is a symbol of some divine presence.

The main attractions:

Just below the temple of Lord Vishnu something has been written in a special script, the secret of which is not known to anyone and it has not been read so far. This shows the antiquity of the place.

The Damodar river passes near the temple, the sound of which makes the scene of this place even more charming and pleasant.
