Deputy Commissioner Bokaro's Office is currently located in Camp II in Bokaro Steel City. Earlier the office was in Court Complex in Chas Court Area after the creation of new Bokaro District. The Deputy Commissioners Office has various Welfare Schemes for the welfare and benefits of common masses.
IT Activities at District Collectorate
The District collectorate is having well equipped computer section with latest Servers and Clients. The computer section is providing various monthly reports to all the sections in the collectorate. Also the collectorate has Video Conferencing facilities the technical support for which is being provided by the National Informatics Centre District Unit Bokaro.

The Govt OF INDIA started the scheme of SGSY. with effect from 1.4.99 after merging six programmes/schemes viz. IRDP, Trysem, DWCRA,Sitra, GKY, MWS. The families living below poverty line are assisted under this programme individialy as well as groups by arranging bank loan and providing subsidy to the Swarozaries which is forwarded at the rate of 50% to the group with maximum limit of 1.25 lacs while SC individuals are forwarded 50% subsidy with maximum limit to Rs. 10000/- other non SC swarozari are provided subsidy at the rate of 30% with maximum limit of Rs. 7500/- 20 percent of the total available funds are kept for programme Infrastructure, 10% for training component and 10% for revolving funds to the groups. |
It is a centrally
sponsored program in which a sum of Rs. 20,000/- per family as subsidy, provided to those
BPL families who do not have their own pucca house, so that they may construct pucca house
for better living conditions.

Those BPL families
who have their own kacha houses and need upgradation/improvement, they are provided funds
to the tune of Rs. 10000/- per family for the purpose.

| For creating durable
community assets and providing wage employment in rural area to the unemployed persons EAS
is implemented. 30% of the total funds are yearmark for District level and 70% for
Panchayat Samities who recommend schemes and these are implemented after final approval of
Zila Parishad.

Jawhar Gram Samridhi Yojana is implemented for creation of durable community
assets and providing wage employment in the rural areas. Total funds are directely
provided to all the Gram Panchayat in ratio of population of the concerned Gram Panchayat

The scheme of the SGRY has been started by merging Urban Poverty Alleviation Programmes such as JGSY & EAS. The schemes are selected in the Gram Sabha and the funds under this scheme is yearmarked as such 50% to the Panchayat, 30% to the Panchayat Samiti & 20% at the Zila Parishad level. In this scheme labourers are provided minimum fixed wages including foodgrains (3Kg of rice & 2 Kg of Wheat) as their wage component. |

| It is a central sponsored
program in which such a schemes are taken that can be helpful to raise waterlevel of a
particular area. One project of DPAP covers the land of 500 hactares to develop
cultivation, vegetation, plantation and all the necessary socio economic activities.

| This scheme is for the benefit of oldage persons greater than 65 years and those whose annual income doesnot exceed 5000 rupees in rural areas and 5500 rs in urban areas.The person eligible for the scheme gets Rs.75 pm as aid from the central government aided department. | This scheme is also for oldage persons as above but the scheme gets aid from the state government. The criterion for the scheme is that age of the person be greater than 60 yrs and his family income should not exceed Rs.600 pa.The beneficiary gets Rs.25 PM as aid. | This scheme is for those
family whose solo breadearner had died. The Beneficiary must be between 18 to 64 yrs. The
beneficiary gets a aid of Rs.10,000 under this scheme

| The scheme is for the benefit of the ladies aged 19yrs and more and get Rs.500 per pregrance but for two times only. |

| This scheme is meant for poor, SC, ST, minorities and Jawans etc who come under Landless catagory are allotted by Deputy Commissioner or SDO. the land is distributed to them to earn livelihood. A minimum of 1/2 Acres of land is allotted by DC\SDO. | Under the scheme land is distributed to the landless persons for the construction of home. The right of allotment rests with the SDO Of the area. | Under the scheme the possession of land illegely occupied is restored back to tribals. |
